Erwin Van Der Voort joined RBC Capital Markets in September as its New York-based head of the alternative investors group, a spokesman for the bank confirmed.
He will provide investment banking coverage to clients including hedge funds, investment holding companies and alternative asset managers, according to one person familiar with the situation. Van Der Voort will also have responsibilities in the consumer M&A space, according to another person.
Van Der Voort worked at Credit Suisse from 1994 until June this year, with spells in New York, London and Dubai, according to his LinkedIn profile.
His roles included working for Credit Suisse as the bank’s Dubai-based head of M&A for the Middle East and North Africa, which he held from April 2010 until moving to New York the following year to become head of hedge fund investment banking.
