Paul Mainwaring, who for nearly a decade was group finance director at Tullett before his departure earlier this year, will join IG Group on July 11 as its chief financial offer, the firm said in a statement on July 8.
During his time at Tullett, Mainwaring helped steer the brokerage through its £1.1 billion acquisition of Icap’s voice broking business. In a statement dated May 6 naming former Brit Insurance Group finance chief Andrew Baddeley as Mainwaring’s successor, John Phizackerley, Tullett CEO, said Mainwaring had “played an important part” in getting the Icap deal signed in November 2015.
Mainwaring became Tullett finance director in December 2006, having previously held the same position at the construction company Mowlem.
IG was founded in 1974 by the entrepreneur Stuart Wheeler as a spread-betting firm. It now offers online trading in markets including derivatives, equities, foreign exchange and commodities.
